Save with GreenSaver home energy audit gift certificates

Friday, November 9th 2007 9:44:19am

Bah humbug!

This season, be a scrooge and save with the GreenSaver home energy audit gift certificate

(Toronto, November 2007)  Just in time for the holiday season, GreenSaver, the non-profit leader in home energy efficiency audits, is giving consumers the gift of improving home energy efficiency with home energy audit gift certificates.

Consumers can choose either a preliminary energy assessment or a complete preliminary and post energy assessment to give as a gift certificate.

The preliminary energy assessment guarantees a comprehensive visual inspection of the entire residence, a blower door test (a measurement of the change in air leakage in the house) and a computer modeling report that identifies where energy efficient upgrades will provide the greatest benefit.

The energy assessment starts the qualification process for the homeowner to receive up to $5,000 for specific energy efficiency upgrades from the federal ecoENERGY™ Retrofit program. It also enables qualification for the Ontario provincial government's grant program, which will match the federal grant funds given. In order to complete the qualification process, after the energy upgrades are made, a post energy assessment is required.

Vladan Veljovic, GreenSaver president, says the gift certificates allow gift givers the option of purchasing something that will provide lasting savings, improved comfort and peace of mind for their loved ones.

"As many of us know from experience, gift giving can be difficult. Ensuring that friends and family receive something they will appreciate and use takes consideration and a measure of luck. GreenSaver energy audit gift certificates are the sensible solution."

For those interested in giving both the preliminary and post energy assessment, GreenSaver offers a gift certificate for that too.  It is a follow-up review to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of efficiency renovations completed on the residence. It also completes the submission requirements for the homeowner to receive their ecoENERGY™ retrofit grant.

For a growing number of people concerned about climate change, GreenSaver gift certificates contribute to an environmentally friendly lifestyle and lower monthly energy bills, adds Mr. Veljovic.

"GreenSaver gift certificates for home energy efficiency are a cost effective gift that helps reduce the impact of wasted energy on our shared environment and lets friends and family save for their future by reducing their monthly home energy bills. It's a win-win situation!" says Mr. Veljovic.
