Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to be investigated for violation of federal PCB regulations
Allan Williams of New Harbour, Newfoundland, is successful in using his environmental rights to request a federal investigation of alleged violations of the federal PCB regulation under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. The circumstances that have lead to the PCB contamination of the landfill primarily result from disposal of transformer casings that took place in 1985 and then again in 1994 in a remediation project.
Mr. Williams is available to discuss the following points:
• Circumstances leading to the PCB contamination and inadequate action by the Province and their consultants
• Circumstances that lead to filing an application for investigation
• The application process, and the speed with which this investigation is being addressed
