Ontario Nature and the Oak Ridges Trail Association to reveal new addition to the Oak Ridges Moraine Trail

New section will join Bruce Trail and bridge the connection between the Moraine and the Niagara Escarpment

(Toronto, September 29, 2008) Media are invited to attend a lunch and tour to celebrate the new addition to the Oak Ridges Moraine Trail that joins the Oak Ridges Trail with the Bruce Trail.

The event will also feature a health promotion initiative of the Ontario College of Family Physicians and Ontario Nature to highlight the value of the Greenbelt to supporting human health. This includes a series of brochures that deal with issues such as fitness and obesity (and the amenities the Greenbelt provides such as trails) and the health benefits of locally-produced foods.

Dr. Helena Jaczek, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Health Promotion and MPP for Oak Ridges-Markham will be making keynote remarks as will Caroline Schultz, Executive Director of Ontario Nature, the Acting Mayor of Caledon, and Harold Sellers, Executive Director of the Oak Ridges Trail Association.
